2025 Tournament

The 13th annual COPi Cup Invitational Pro-Am presented by Legistics raised another $300,000 for the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation’s scholarship fund, adding a major boost to fund scholarships for students pursuing higher education. That will enable us to expand our funding for 2025–2026, develop further partnerships for post-secondary educational opportunities for Foundation Scholars and SCGA Juniors, and invest in the COPi Cup Endowment.

To date, thanks to our generous players and matching partners, we’ve raised almost $2.4 million!

Phil Frengs’ hand is tired. That’s a lot of zeros!

Past Foundation president (and its founder) Phil Frengs again hosted the annual invitational at beautiful Spyglass and Pebble Beach, where the weather held for three gorgeous days.

And once again we spun the Divot Disk for thousands of dollars of prizes at our Sunday night dinner, all of which were donated by our generous pros and their sponsors.

Our annual Bogey Award (appropriately a 500-piece puzzle) went to David Rodriguez, who accepted it with humor and humility.

Defending champion, Marcus De La Rosa, PGA, of Santa Ana CC achieved his fifth win in a row, and took home the individual tournament trophy at 6 under par.

Palos Verdes Golf Club squeaked out a victory over Santa Ana Country Club, winning the team title in a card-off at 23-under par. Above, from left, are tournament director Mark Pfeil; PVGC team members Jim Gormley, PGA; Ryan Tocicki; Jeff DeLarme; and Mike McKay. Phil Frengs gives them a thumbs up in congratulations.

Joshlyn Ayala, the Foundation’s 2025 COPi Cup scholar and longtime SCGA Junior participant, reflected on the impact that the Foundation has made on her life and educational journey in this incredible video that was shown at the event.
