Somehow, we keep topping ourselves! The 12th annual COPi Cup Invitational Pro-Am presented by Legistics raised a record $301,000 for the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation’s scholarship fund.
Over another beautiful weekend at Pebble Beach GL and Spyglass Hill GC, we added a major boost to fund scholarships for students pursuing higher education.

Past Foundation president Phil Frengs founded and hosts the annual invitational, which continues to provide sustained income for the Foundation’s expanding scholarship program. Since its inception 12 years ago, the event has raised $2.1 million.
This year we added even more excitement to our Sunday night dinner, including a heartfelt Bogey Award and our Divot Disk, which we spun for prizes worth over $10,000, donated by our incredible pros and other friends of the COPi Cup.
We also introduced our new Founders Club, honoring those who’ve contributed over $50,000 to the cause since the event’s inception.

Defending champion, Marcus De La Rosa, PGA (above being congratulated by Phil Frengs and SCGA COO Jeff Ninnemann), took home the individual tournament win for the fourth year in a row, finishing the event at a stellar 10 under par.

Palos Verdes Golf Club claimed the team title at 23-under par. Above, from left are Phil Frengs; PVGC team members Jim Gormley, PGA, Ryan Tocicki, Mike McKay and Jeff DeLarme; and our own Mark Pfeil.
“We’re blown away by the support for this special event,” said SCGA Junior Golf Foundation Executive Director Kevin Gigax. “The participants’ passion for our mission and support for our scholars is incredibly heartwarming. We’re already looking forward to next year.”
The Foundation’s 2024 COPi Cup scholar and longtime SCGA Junior participant, Cristen Legaspi, shared her story. Watch here.
