The annual COPi Cup Invitational Pro-Am presented by Legistics raised a record $272,250 for the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation’s scholarship fund. Held annually at Pebble Beach GL and Spyglass Hill GC, this event provides a significant boost to fund scholarships for students pursuing higher education.

Past Foundation president Phil Frengs founded and hosts the annual invitational, which continues to provide sustained income for the Foundation’s expanding scholarship program. Since its inception 11 years ago, the event has raised $1.9 million.
“Once again, participants of COPi Cup have overwhelmed us with their support,” Frengs expressed. “We can’t thank this community enough. Every year, their spirit of giving allows us to reach new heights. I am incredibly grateful.”

Defending champion, Marcus De La Rosa, PGA, took home the individual tournament win for the third year in a row, finishing the event at 4 under par.

A late addition to the field, North Ranch CC claimed the team title at 34 under par. Comprised of Dylan Crowley, Jay Gibbons, Lane McCarthy and Casey McCoy, the eventual champions filled in for Spanish Hills CC who withdrew due to injury. Mark Wilson, PGA, was generous enough to donate his team’s spot.
“We’re so fortunate to benefit from the continued upward trajectory of this special event,” said SCGA Junior Golf Foundation Executive Director Kevin Gigax. “We are always amazed by the participants’ passion for our mission and support for our scholars.”
