Generosity during a pandemic
We held the eighth annual COPi Cup Invitational Pro-Am Tournament at Pebble Beach in March of 2020, just as COVID-19 really started to make itself felt. In an atmosphere of uncertainty and trepidation, with stock prices dropping like a rock, our generous participants still stepped up. We raised $225,650 at a time when our scholarship kids really needed our help.
For 2020, we congratulate the winning team led by Virginia Country Club golf pro Nick Badel, with amateurs Antonio Fontana, Max Frank and Brock Palmer exhibiting their finesse. Adam Sollers of the Crosswater Club was the pro champion.
But the real winners are the scholars we help. Many of our generous participants and matching sponsors have returned every year since we started the COPi Cup in 2013. To date, we’ve raised $1,100,000 and changed the lives of an ever-growing number of kids and their families.
In a difficult year, during difficult times, we (and they) are especially grateful.
